NCDEX Ltd. has unveiled a refreshed brand identity, marking its shift from a commodity derivatives exchange to a diversified, multi-asset market institution. The transformation includes a new logo, a new brand philosophy, Building Markets, Creating Possibilities, and a change in the exchange's official name from National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange to NCDEX Ltd.

  • New name: NCDEX Ltd, from National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange
  • New brand philosophy: Building Markets, Creating Possibilities
  • Launched alongside: NCDEX NIDHI, the exchange's mutual fund distribution platform
  • Event chief guest: Amarjeet Singh, Whole Time Member, SEBI
  • Also present: investors, asset management companies and farmer producer organisations (FPOs)
  • Context: expansion into equity and equity derivatives alongside its original commodities business

From Commodities to a Multi-Asset Institution

NCDEX has spent two decades building transparent agricultural markets through price discovery and risk management, and the rebrand is timed to a period in which the exchange has been extending beyond that original mandate into equity, equity derivatives and now mutual fund distribution through NIDHI.

Dr Arun Raste, MD and CEO of NCDEX, framed the identity change as recognition of that shift rather than a cosmetic update, saying markets today are no longer isolated, that value moves across sectors, participants and systems, and that growth comes from connection. He said the new identity reflects that evolution, marking a role that has expanded well beyond commodity derivatives into a broader mandate of bringing participants, infrastructure and markets together, while remaining anchored in the trust, transparency and market integrity the exchange has held since inception.

What the New Logo Is Meant to Say

Kavita Jha, SVP Marketing and Communications at NCDEX, described the design intent behind the mark itself, saying the logo represents the complete market ecosystem, with the exchange at its centre and the movement of value radiating outward through participants and systems. She said every element of the visual identity, from structure to colour language, was crafted to symbolise trust, collaboration and growth, reflecting a belief that markets create greater value when ecosystems come together.

The launch of NCDEX NIDHI alongside the rebrand gives the new identity an immediate product to carry, extending the exchange's reach from commodity price discovery into retail investor distribution for the first time.
