What The Black Dog Manish Malhotra Pack Looks Like
A gold-on-gold palette with floral, botanical and ornamental elements. The artwork runs across the outer monocarton and an accompanying glass, with the floral design flowing between the two, so the pack reads as a set rather than a box with a matching gift.
Why Malhotra
"So much of my work has been about creating for moments that bring people together, from bridal and festive couture to the occasions that become a part of our most cherished memories," said Malhotra. He said he was drawn to the brand's heritage and its appreciation for craftsmanship.
"Bringing Manish Malhotra on board felt like a natural fit, given how closely his work has become associated with some of India's most memorable celebrations," said Varun Koorichh, vice president, marketing, international whiskies, Diageo India.
"Bringing our two worlds together has been an opportunity to create something that feels distinctive yet authentic to both," Malhotra added. Koorichh said the designer's sensibility lets the brand take Triple Gold Reserve "beyond the whisky itself," into gifting, entertaining and celebrating.
Gifting Is The Real Market
Festive packs are a familiar move in Indian premium spirits, where advertising restrictions push brands towards packaging, partnerships and gifting rather than conventional campaigns. A designer edition gives the bottle a reason to be bought as a present rather than for the cabinet. Black Dog has used the format before, with an earlier Triple Gold Reserve limited edition designed by Falguni Shane Peacock in 2024.
Price and the states where the pack will be sold were not disclosed.
