What Glance Does
Glance uses agentic AI to understand a consumer's interests and preferences and introduce relevant products, including ones they may not have considered on their own. It runs across smartphones, connected TVs and other digital screens, aiming to take people from inspiration to discovery and purchase. Through partnerships with Samsung, Motorola and DIRECTV, it is already on millions of devices in the US.
Why L Catterton Is Backing It
"Agentic commerce is fundamentally changing how consumers discover and shop for products, creating significant opportunities for brands that can make the journey more personal, intuitive, and engaging," said Scott Dahnke, global CEO of L Catterton. He said Glance combines "a differentiated consumer proposition with broad distribution across the screens where people spend their time."
"Their decision to back Glance is a validation of the shopping model we've created and our belief that the future of commerce will move beyond search toward agentic shopping," said Naveen Tewari, founder and CEO of InMobi and Glance.
Why It Matters For Advertisers
Shopping agents that choose which products to show a consumer change where brands compete for attention: less on search results and marketplaces, more inside the recommendation itself. An investor with L Catterton's consumer and brand portfolio backing that model is a signal of where the firm expects product discovery to move.
L Catterton manages about $40 billion of equity capital and has made more than 300 investments since 1989. Glance is also backed by Mithril Capital, Google and Jio Platforms, according to the company's announcement.
