Bhaskar Rawat, joining DishTV as vice president, growth, after leading growth at OTTplay

DishTV has appointed Bhaskar Rawat as vice president, growth. He joins in October 2026 from OTTplay, part of HT Media Group, where he was head of growth.

  • Company: DishTV
  • Role: Vice president, growth
  • Previously: Head of growth, OTTplay
  • Earlier: RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, Jio and Airtel

Bhaskar Rawat At OTTplay

From March 2025 to September 2026 Rawat led growth and analytics at OTTplay across performance marketing, lifecycle management and acquisition partnerships. He ran acquisition campaigns on Meta and Google, owned the subscriber P&L across acquisition, retention and win-back, and built distribution partnerships across quick commerce, fintech and consumer platforms. He reports subscription revenue growth of more than 50 per cent year on year.

Retention, Telecom And Analytics

Before OTTplay he was head of customer lifecycle management for health and wellness at RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, covering Dr. Vaidya's and three60, where retention revenue rose about 30 per cent.

At Jio, as deputy general manager for usage and revenue analytics from 2022 to 2023, he worked on a subscriber base of more than 400 million, including targeting analytics for the 5G and AirFiber rollout. At Airtel, from 2018 to 2022, he led prepaid growth and operations for the Mumbai circle before moving to the national usage and retention function.

At Airtel's Mumbai circle he was responsible for prepaid growth in a business with Rs 1,200 crore in annual revenue, and at RP Sanjiv Goenka Group he took four products to product-market fit, segmenting customers by cohort on a stack of CleverTap, Amplitude, Snowflake and GA4.

His earlier career includes product strategy at Lava International, consulting at Avalon Consulting and application development at Headstrong.

Why It Fits

A DTH operator's growth problem is mostly a retention problem: keeping subscribers recharging as viewing shifts to streaming. Rawat's record sits almost entirely on that side of the funnel, across both telecom and streaming subscriptions.
