Ferrero Rocher has entered India's premium bar segment, with Ferrero India launching Ferrero Rocher Bars in two variants at an MRP of Rs 499 for a 90g bar.

  • Product: Ferrero Rocher Bars, 90g, MRP Rs 499
  • Variants: Classic Hazelnut and 70 per cent Cocoa Hazelnut
  • Design: embossed sections evoking the texture of the original, alternating with smooth sections
  • Distribution: quick commerce first, then modern trade and premium stores in key metros
  • Campaign: 'Ferrero Rocher is a Bar.' across out of home, digital and creator collaborations, culminating in a film with Hrithik Roshan

What Ferrero Rocher Has Changed And Kept

The format is new, the cues are not. The bars carry the signature interplay of smooth chocolate, creamy filling and crunchy hazelnuts, wrapped in the same gold, with an embossed design that evokes the textured character of the original sphere alternating with smooth, flat sections. The Classic Hazelnut variant offers the familiar milk profile, while the 70 per cent Cocoa Hazelnut delivers a more intense cocoa experience.

The design decision is doing the heavy lifting. Ferrero Rocher's equity in India is unusually tied to a physical shape and a gold wrapper, and a flat bar throws away the shape. Embossing the texture back into the bar is an attempt to keep the recognition while changing the format entirely.

Why The Bar Segment, And Why Now

Zoher Kapuswala, marketing head for Ferrero India Subcontinent, framed it around extending existing equity rather than launching something new. "Ferrero Rocher has built strong equity in India through its signature combination of quality, craftsmanship and textures," he said. "With Ferrero Rocher Bars, we are taking these elements into a new format and creating a multisensory way for consumers to experience the brand."

He added that every detail, from ingredient selection to the design and texture of the bar, had been crafted to make each bite distinctive, while staying true to what makes the brand iconic. The commercial logic is straightforward: bars are one of India's most established sugar confectionery formats, and a premium player whose equity sits in a gifting-shaped product has limited access to everyday self-purchase. Leading with quick commerce before modern trade points at the same reasoning, since that is where impulse premium buying now happens. More brand news.
