Complan Makes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Its India Ka Complan Boy

Complan has launched India Ka Complan Boy, a campaign fronted by cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, taking one of Indian advertising's longest-running characters and handing it to a real person.
- Brand: Complan, from Zydus Wellness
- Campaign: India Ka Complan Boy
- Ambassador: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
- Philosophy line: Thoda Plan, Thoda Complan
Why This Particular Cricketer
At 15 Sooryavanshi became the youngest cricketer to debut for India in international cricket, passing a record that had stood in Sachin Tendulkar's name. He scored his maiden T20 half century against Zimbabwe in July. For a brand whose entire equity is built on children who are told they can be exceptional, an actual exceptional child is a more defensible piece of casting than another young actor.
What Complan Is Actually Changing
The Complan Boy has been an advertising character for decades, which is both the asset and the problem. A character ages into nostalgia and stops speaking to the households buying the product now. Moving from a character to a real achiever shifts the claim from something the brand asserts to something a viewer can check, and it lets the brand keep a recognisable piece of equity while changing what it points at.
What Zydus Wellness Said
Tarun Arora, chief executive and whole time director at Zydus Wellness, said brands stay relevant by evolving with the people they serve, and that Complan's legacy of celebrating children who dream big has to meet a generation dreaming differently. Sooryavanshi, he said, represents that evolution, with a story of ambition, preparation, perseverance and family support.
Sooryavanshi called it a full circle moment, saying that playing in the IPL and representing India so young is something he is grateful for and that he still has a lot to learn. He grew up in a house of three brothers where Complan was on the table, which is why being named India Ka Complan Boy felt particular. He said he hoped it encourages other children to dream big, work hard and stay grounded.
The campaign sits on the brand's Thoda Plan, Thoda Complan idea: that big ambitions are met through ordinary preparation, discipline, family support and nutrition. More campaign work.
