Anthropic Launches Personal Finance In Claude

Anthropic has launched Personal Finance in Claude, which lets users connect bank and card accounts and ask about their money in everyday language. It is rolling out in beta this week for Claude Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the US.
- Company: Anthropic
- Feature: Personal Finance in Claude
- Availability: Beta, Pro, Max and Ultra plans, US only
- Account linking: Plaid, read-only
How Personal Finance In Claude Works
Users sign in to their bank through Plaid and approve read-only access. Anthropic says Claude does not ask for or see bank passwords, and cannot move, manage or invest money. For connected accounts, Claude sees bank and account names, account types, the last four digits, balances, credit limits and up to two years of transactions.
Users can ask questions such as "Where did my money go this month?" Claude totals spending by category, compares it with earlier months, lists payments due before the next payday, and flags duplicate charges, unexpected fees or rising bills. It can explain terms such as APR, calculate interest, and produce charts, a calendar of payments or a dashboard.
Privacy And Ads
Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its models, and users can unlink an account at any time. The feature has no ads or sponsored recommendations, and Anthropic does not offer credit cards, loans or savings products of its own. It is not designed to give investment advice, and Anthropic cautions that Claude can make mistakes and that users should check important figures with their bank.
What Comes Next
Anthropic described the feature as a first step. It says it wants to explore working with licensed professionals and regulated financial firms on bigger decisions, and has invited banks, wealth managers and financial services companies to get in touch. It is not yet available in India.
Ad Tribe has covered Claude's in-country inference in India.
Anthropic set out the details in its announcement.
