Vikrant Vohra Takes Charge as President and CEO of Sapphire Foods' KFC Business

Vikrant Vohra, President and CEO of Sapphire Foods' KFC business

Sapphire Foods India has appointed Vikrant Vohra as President and Chief Executive Officer of its KFC business, with the role taking effect on 25 July. Vohra moves across from the company's Pizza Hut business, where he served as Executive Vice President and CEO, and continues as part of Sapphire Foods' senior management team.

  • Appointee: Vikrant Vohra
  • New role: President and CEO, KFC business, Sapphire Foods India
  • Effective: 25 July 2026
  • Previous role: Executive Vice President and CEO, Pizza Hut business at Sapphire Foods
  • Succeeds: Deepak Taluja, who stepped down on 24 July
  • Related move: Saurabh Girdhar promoted to Assistant Vice President and COO of the Pizza Hut business, also effective 25 July

An Internal Move Rather Than an Outside Hire

Promoting from within, and specifically moving a leader sideways from one brand to another inside the same franchise group, gives Sapphire Foods continuity of operating culture at a moment of leadership change at its largest brand. Vohra brings nearly two decades in hospitality, including earlier leadership roles at Yum! Brands and Yum! Restaurants International where he oversaw KFC operations across key India markets, meaning he arrives with direct prior exposure to the brand he is now taking charge of rather than learning it from scratch.

Two Appointments, One Reshuffle

The simultaneous promotion of Saurabh Girdhar to COO of Pizza Hut, filling the operational gap Vohra leaves behind, indicates this was planned as a single coordinated reshuffle rather than a reactive backfill following Taluja's resignation. For a listed QSR operator running two major international brands under one roof, that kind of paired move matters: it keeps both businesses covered at senior level through the transition, at a time when India's quick-service restaurant sector is competing hard on store expansion, delivery economics and value-led menu pricing.
