Mivi Appoints Nitin Yadav As Head Of Public Relations

Nitin Yadav, appointed head of public relations at Mivi as the audio brand prepares to enter the smartphone segment

Nitin Yadav has joined Mivi as head of public relations, taking charge of communications at the homegrown consumer technology brand as it moves beyond audio and into smartphones.

  • Role: head of public relations, Mivi
  • Context: Mivi is expanding from audio into the smartphone segment
  • Next launch: Mivi One, scheduled for 24 September
  • Joins from: POCO India, where he was lead of product and corporate communications from April 2024
  • Experience: more than 12 years in technology communications

What Nitin Yadav Did Before Mivi

Launched phones, repeatedly, for most of the brands that made the Indian smartphone market what it is. He was lead of product and corporate communications at POCO India from April 2024 to September 2025, and before that account director at Avian We., where he led strategic communications and integrated campaign narratives for Samsung's consumer electronics and mobile business.

He spent nearly five years at OPPO as lead PR from August 2018 to March 2023, working across global and local communication initiatives. Earlier roles include PR manager at Huawei Technologies India and manager of press relations and corporate affairs at vivo Smartphone, plus agency work at SKATEBOARD MEDIA and Genesis BCW on accounts including Gionee, Micromax and Sennheiser. He began at BoringBrands and V care consulting services, after an internship with FleishmanHillard.

Why The Timing Is The Story

Because Mivi is about to do the hardest thing in Indian consumer technology. Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Yadav called it a new chapter and pointed at the brand's evolution from audio into a broader consumer technology play, teasing the Mivi One launch on 24 September.

Audio brands crossing into smartphones face a specific communications problem: the earbud buyer forgives a great deal that the phone buyer will not, and the reviewer set is entirely different. Hiring someone who has run launch communications inside OPPO, POCO and vivo, and agency side for Samsung, is a bet on knowing that reviewer set before the first unit ships. More appointments.
