Hyundai Motor India Signs Para Archer Sheetal Devi As Brand Ambassador

Hyundai Motor India has appointed para archer Sheetal Devi as its brand ambassador, turning a three year support relationship into the public face of the company's work on inclusion and accessibility.
- Ambassador: Sheetal Devi, Arjuna Awardee and world number one para archer
- Company: Hyundai Motor India Limited
- Scope: purpose led marketing campaigns, accessibility programmes, inclusion initiatives and social impact communication
- Framing: aligned to Hyundai's global vision, "Progress for Humanity"
- History: Hyundai has been associated with Devi since 2023 through its Samarth by Hyundai initiative
Who Sheetal Devi Is
At 19, the current world champion and world number one para archer, a Paralympic medallist, a two time world record holder and an Arjuna Awardee. She is from Loidhar village in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, and became the first Indian para archer selected for an able bodied national team. Her record also includes three Asian Games medals.
Tarun Garg, managing director and chief executive of Hyundai Motor India, said true progress is driven by the courage to challenge limitations, and described Devi as a symbol of what determination achieves when barriers are replaced by opportunities. Devi said Hyundai had been a strong supporter of her journey and that she valued the trust the brand extended to her.
Why The 2023 Start Date Matters
Because it is the difference between a signing and a sponsorship that grew up. Hyundai has backed Devi since 2023 through Samarth by Hyundai, its accessibility and inclusion initiative, and the association has run alongside the years in which she became world number one rather than starting after she got there.
That sequence is worth noting in a market where ambassador deals typically follow a medal by a matter of weeks. Backing an athlete before the results arrive is a harder call to make and a much better story to tell afterwards, and it is the one piece of this announcement that a competitor cannot replicate by writing a cheque.
