Amazon Launches Creator Connections To Match Creators With Brand Campaigns

Amazon has launched Creator Connections in India, a programme that matches eligible creators with relevant brand campaigns and pays them through performance rather than a flat fee.
Programme: Creator Connections, rolling out in phases
Pool: more than 1.65 lakh creators already in the Amazon Influencer Program
Model: creators share campaigns through their affiliate link and earn on eligible clicks and conversions
Scale so far: creator-led discovery has contributed to the sale of over 6 crore products on Amazon.in this year
Distribution: nearly 70 per cent of creator-led purchases come from non-metro cities
How Creator Connections Works
It recommends campaigns based on a creator's profile, audience and content, and also lets them browse campaigns matching their interests. Amazon's own example: a technology creator whose audience follows consumer tech may be recommended a campaign from a participating smartphone brand, and can choose to take part, share it through their affiliate link, and earn on eligible clicks and conversions.
The mechanic matters more than the interface. Most brand-creator matching in India still runs through agencies and negotiated fees, which works at the top of the creator pyramid and badly everywhere below it. A self-serve programme paying on measured outcomes is the only structure that reaches a pool of 1.65 lakh creators without an army of intermediaries.
Where The Growth Is Actually Coming From
The distribution numbers are the most interesting part of the announcement. Creator-led discovery has contributed to the sale of over 6 crore products on Amazon.in this year, and nearly 70 per cent of creator-led purchases now come from non-metro cities, which puts regional and emerging creators at the centre of the economics rather than the margins.
Nidhi Thakkar, head of social commerce for emerging countries at Amazon, tied the launch to timing. "Ahead of the festive season, we have introduced Creator Connections designed to make that journey simpler by connecting eligible creators with relevant brand campaigns that match their content and interests," she said. Beauty and lifestyle creator Scherezade Shroff put the appeal in creator terms: "It enables creators like us to earn from sales driven by our content and we get to talk about products that we genuinely love." The programme joins the Amazon Influencer Program, Amazon Live, Creator Central and Creator University. More news.
