Telum Media, the media relations platform, has launched a distribution offering that lets PR teams send targeted, personalised pitches to verified journalists from inside the platform. The company announced it on 21 September 2026.

  • Company: Telum Media, founded in Singapore in 2013
  • Product: distribution, built into the Telum Media platform
  • Does: sends tailored press releases to verified journalist profiles and tracks opens, engagement and responses
  • Based on: feedback from more than 10,000 journalists across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, gathered over five years of Journalist Interest Surveys
  • Pricing: not disclosed

What Telum Media Is Changing

Where distribution sits. Wire services and mass-mail tools send a release widely and report back on reach. Telum's argument is that the job has moved: journalists say they want fewer, more relevant pitches, so the sending should happen where the research is done, against verified beats and profiles, with engagement visible afterwards.

Annemarelle van Schayik, group head of clients at Telum Media, said the tool is designed to help teams create connections, not noise, and that traditional distribution tools often prioritise reach over relevance and sit outside the PR workflow.

Who It Is For

Van Schayik split the pitch by user. For in-house teams, she said, it simplifies workflow and helps prove impact; for agencies, it scales personalised outreach across clients with more consistency and control. For journalists, the promise is better visibility and control over what they receive.

Why It Matters To PR Teams In India

India is not one of Telum's core regions, which are Southeast Asia, East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and the Middle East. But the problem it describes is universal, and familiar to any Indian newsroom inbox. The measurement is the part worth watching: once opens and replies are tracked per journalist, a PR team's pitch quality becomes a number, and so does the cost of blasting a release to everyone.
