Himani Angira Sharma has joined WPP Media as vice president, engagement lead (West), where she will lead the agency's connected TV business. She moves after ten years at Sony Pictures Networks India, and announced the move on LinkedIn.

  • Company: WPP Media
  • Role: Vice president, engagement lead (West)
  • Remit: Connected TV business
  • Previously: Group head, ad sales, Sony MAX

Himani Angira Sharma's Brief

Sharma will lead CTV and develop engagement-led solutions for brands. She has about 12 years of experience across television ad sales, business development and key account management, with a focus on revenue growth and brand partnerships.

A Decade At Sony

At Sony Pictures Networks India she was most recently group head, leading ad sales strategy for Sony MAX, MAX 2 and MAX HD. Her work focused on revenue growth, especially from FMCG accounts, through customised ad solutions.

She also helped monetise high-value programming, including World Television Premieres and South Dub Premieres, driving ad sales and improving inventory use through high-yield clients.

Before Sony

Earlier, Sharma was at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, handling ad sales for Zee TV and Zee Cinema with a focus on market share and fixed-time commercial revenue.

In her LinkedIn post she described her decade at Sony as a period of significant learning and valuable relationships, and said she was looking forward to new challenges at WPP Media. The move takes her from the broadcaster side to the agency side, as connected TV becomes a larger part of how advertisers buy video. WPP Media has not issued a statement, and her start date has not been disclosed.
