Snapdeal has introduced an AI suite for fashion shopping, combining personalised recommendations, conversational search and image-based product discovery.
- Recommendation engine: StyleMatch, which the company says influences 76% of customer orders
- Inputs used: Browsing behaviour, purchase history, location, style preferences and real-time interactions
- Conversational search: Powered by large language models, letting users search in natural language instead of exact keywords
- Image search: "Snap&Shop," which lets users upload a photo or screenshot to find similar products
- User base: Over 80% of Snapdeal's orders come from non-metro cities
Designed For Bharat's Shoppers
Achint Setia, CEO of Snapdeal, said fashion discovery "should feel effortless and fun," noting that customers "think in occasions, inspirations, colours, celebrities, trends and images" rather than keywords. The company said the image-based, natural-language and personalised discovery tools are aimed at making shopping easier for users who may be less familiar with fashion terminology.
