Zomato's 'Have A WOW Diwali' Campaign Stars Saif Ali Khan

Zomato has launched 'Have a WOW Diwali', a digital-first campaign starring Saif Ali Khan, to sell Diwali hampers from its restaurant partners. The campaign was conceptualised in-house, and the 46-second film went up on Zomato's YouTube channel on 29 October.
- Brand: Zomato
- Campaign: 'Have a WOW Diwali'
- Talent: Saif Ali Khan
- Agency: In-house
The Zomato Diwali Film
Khan is hosting a Diwali party and the gifts keep arriving: towels, bedsheets, soaps, crockery and, at one point, a shaving kit. He greets each one with a flat, polite 'WOW'. His reaction only changes when a Zomato delivery partner in the brand's red T-shirt turns up with a Diwali food hamper.
The gifts in the film include a box of glassware and a bouquet made of shaving products, which Khan meets with lines such as "A shaving kit... for Diwali?" The film closes with the hamper and the line "That's how you celebrate Diwali."
The campaign promotes curated hampers from Zomato's restaurant partners, including mithai, assorted, dessert and chocolate hampers, which are now available to order on the app.
What Zomato Said
"Nothing beats a hamper from a mithai shop, bakery, or restaurant for Diwali. This festive season, we're super stoked to be collaborating with the incorrigible Saif Ali Khan to bring that truth home, in a way that only Saif can," said Sahibjeet Singh Sawhney, marketing head, Zomato.
How It Is Running
The film is running on Zomato's Instagram and YouTube, and Khan has posted it on his own Instagram. Zomato has extended the campaign through influencer collaborations, with creators such as Aakriti Pandey posting their own versions.
Zomato's pitch is that the better Diwali gift comes from a mithai shop, bakery or restaurant, delivered through the same app people already use to order food.
The film is on Zomato's YouTube channel.
