What The Pehle Wali Diwali Families Said

Participants recall making decorations by hand, preparing festive food at home, dressing up, visiting relatives and celebrating with neighbours. Older family members talk about shared activities and neighbourhood gatherings, while younger ones reflect on how changing lifestyles have shaped the festival. Across all five families, the brand says, the wish to spend meaningful time together has not changed.

Food runs through many of the memories, especially Diwali faral such as chakli, laddoos and chivda. The films show the families preparing faral at home using the brand's ingredients.

What Two Brothers Said

"When we asked families what they missed about Diwali, they didn't talk about expensive gifts or grand celebrations. They remembered cooking together, visiting neighbours and spending time with family," said Satyajit Hange, co-founder and farmer, Two Brothers India Farms. "Through Pehle Wali Diwali, we want to encourage families to bring back those little traditions that made the festival so special."

"Food has always been at the heart of our festivals. Earlier, families took pride in preparing everything at home, choosing the best ingredients and passing recipes from one generation to the next," said Ajinkya Hange, co-founder and farmer. "This Diwali, we hope more families rediscover the joy of preparing food together, using ingredients they know and trust."

The Invitation

The brand is asking households to bring back one tradition they remember, whether that is cooking a favourite recipe with parents, drawing a rangoli, taking out an old kandil or visiting a neighbour with something homemade. Two Brothers India Farms was founded in 2014 by brothers Satyajit and Ajinkya Hange at their ancestral farm in Bhodani, Maharashtra.
