One Source Takes On Ghadi Detergent's Integrated Mandate

One Source has won the integrated marketing mandate for Ghadi Detergent, RSPL Group's flagship brand in a category it helped define on price.
- Client: RSPL Group, for Ghadi Detergent
- Agency: One Source, an integrated marketing consultancy
- Scope: digital strategy, creative storytelling, social media, campaign ideation, content development and online brand building
The Problem Ghadi Detergent Is Solving
Not awareness. Ghadi built a distinctive identity around effective cleaning at an accessible price and became one of the leading players in the category on exactly that.
What has changed is where that equity gets renewed. Audiences now discover, engage with and relate to brands somewhere the brand's advertising history barely reaches, and familiarity built over decades of mass media does not automatically carry into a feed.
Translating A Legacy Rather Than Replacing One
Sandeep Rao, Managing Director at One Source, framed the brief as translation: Ghadi has tremendous familiarity and equity, and the opportunity is turning that legacy into a more contemporary digital language while staying rooted in the brand's core.
That distinction matters in this category more than most. A value brand that starts performing as a premium one in its communication loses the thing it is trusted for, and the audience notices before the marketing department does.
Why The Scope Is Worth Noting
The mandate runs from strategy through to content production rather than stopping at ideas. For a brand whose equity sits in habit rather than in novelty, the work that matters is the continuous kind, not the campaign that lands once a year.
Why This Category Is Hard To Move Online
Detergent is bought on habit, at a low price, in a shop, by somebody who has bought the same pack for years. None of those conditions reward the formats digital is best at, and the temptation is to make work that looks modern to the marketing team and foreign to the buyer.
The partnership is aimed at both audiences at once: the existing consumer base and newer ones. That is the harder brief, because the thing that makes the brand familiar to the first group is exactly what can make it invisible to the second.
