Kedar Ravangave Steps Down as Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kedar Ravangave, outgoing Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kedar Ravangave has stepped down as Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank, announcing the move in a LinkedIn post. His tenure covered the relaunch of the Kotak brand through the Hausla Hai Toh Ho Jayega campaign, the launch of Kotak Solitaire, the build-out of new customer growth platforms, and work on applying AI to marketing operations.

  • Outgoing: Kedar Ravangave
  • Role: Head of Marketing, Kotak Mahindra Bank
  • Announced via: LinkedIn
  • Tenure highlights: Kotak brand relaunch through Hausla Hai Toh Ho Jayega, Kotak Solitaire launch, customer growth platforms, AI in marketing operations
  • Previously: marketing leadership roles at Amazon India across Prime, Pay, Fashion, Fresh and Amazon Specials
  • Earlier: Marico, across brand management, brand activation, sales and distribution
  • Next role: not announced

A Departure Framed Around Operating Systems, Not Campaigns

The exit note is unusually specific about what Ravangave thinks comes next, and it is not more advertising. He wrote that a conviction had been building across fifteen years at Marico, Amazon and Kotak, that the future of marketing will not be defined by better campaigns but by better operating systems designed for the current age, and that the next competitive advantage will come not from adopting AI but from redesigning organisations around it. He described that as the problem he wants to spend the next decade solving.

Read against his own record, that is a coherent position rather than a parting flourish. Amazon India is an operations-heavy marketing environment, and his time there included marketing operations and process automation alongside brand work on Prime, Fashion, Pay and Fresh, plus the launch of the Great Indian Festival.

What Kotak Is Replacing

The vacancy is a substantial one because the brand work during his tenure was not incremental. Hausla Hai Toh Ho Jayega was a full relaunch of a large private-sector bank's brand, and Kotak Solitaire was a new premium proposition rather than a line extension. Whoever takes the role inherits both, plus the growth platforms built underneath them.

No successor has been named.
