Dirk Lewis Joins HP Inc as India Market Communications Lead

Dirk Lewis, India Market Communications Lead at HP Inc

HP Inc has appointed Dirk Lewis as its India Market Communications Lead. Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Lewis said he will own HP's overall communications strategy for the India market, spanning corporate and product storytelling, thought leadership, media relations, content strategy, and adapting HP's global narratives, campaigns and activations for India.

  • Appointee: Dirk Lewis
  • Role: India Market Communications Lead, HP Inc
  • Announced via: LinkedIn
  • Remit: communications strategy, corporate and product storytelling, thought leadership, media, content, and localising global campaigns
  • Joins after: a four-month career break between April and July 2026
  • Previously: over four years at Tata Digital as Director, Corporate Communications, Online Reputation Management and Sustainability
  • Earlier: Wipro, Gartner, MSLGROUP India, Text100, FleishmanHillard, Genesis BCW and Vaishnavi Corporate Communications

A Localisation Brief More Than a Launch Brief

The stated remit is worth reading carefully, because the phrase doing most of the work is localising HP's global narratives, campaigns and activations. That is a specific and often underestimated job. Global technology brands arrive in India with finished creative, finished messaging and a finished thought-leadership agenda, and the India communications lead has to decide what survives the journey, what has to be rebuilt, and what should simply not run.

Lewis said he has long respected HP and is pleased to be joining as the company continues to strengthen its product portfolio and leadership in the market.

Agency Side, Then Client Side

His path is a common one in Indian corporate communications and it shows in the range. The agency years span MSLGROUP India, Text100, FleishmanHillard, Genesis BCW and Vaishnavi Corporate Communications, followed by in-house roles at Wipro and Gartner.

The Tata Digital stint is the most directly relevant. He led enterprise communications for the launch of Tata Neu and managed communications across the group's digital ecosystem, which is about as demanding a consumer-technology communications assignment as India has offered in recent years.
