Sapna Chadha Takes Charge Of Google's APAC Ads Go-To-Market

Google has elevated Sapna Chadha to vice president, Asia Pacific Ads Go-to-Market Strategy and Operations, widening her remit from a group of markets to the region's entire advertising business. She announced the move on LinkedIn.
- New role: vice president, Asia Pacific Ads Go-to-Market Strategy and Operations, Google
- Previous role: vice president, Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier, from January 2023
- At Google: more than 12 years
- Before Google: nearly ten years at American Express
- Base: Singapore
What Sapna Chadha's New Role Covers
The job runs go-to-market strategy and operations for Google's Ads business across Asia Pacific: business strategy, growth priorities, resource allocation, product commercialisation, sales operations and business intelligence. Chadha has said her focus will be building a scalable operating engine that turns AI capabilities into business growth, and helping companies across the region take the lead in the technology shift.
From Marketing To Running Markets
For nearly four years she led Google's business in Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Pakistan, and she points to market expansion in Vietnam and Pakistan and the push into video commerce as milestones. Before that, her Google career was in marketing: head of marketing for India, marketing director for Southeast Asia and India, senior marketing director for Google India and Southeast Asia, and vice president of marketing.
She joined Google after nearly a decade at American Express, where her roles included vice president and chief marketing officer of American Express Banking Corp. She holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BBA from the University of Michigan.
The arc is an unusual one: brand leadership, then a revenue line across seven countries, and now the operating machinery behind a region's ad business at the moment AI changes what that business sells. She stays on the boards of MMA Global APAC and the US-ASEAN Business Council, and remains a founding board member of IAA Singapore. More appointments.
