Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Names Pooja Bedi General Counsel And Company Secretary
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has appointed Pooja Bedi as general counsel and company secretary. She will lead the bottler's legal, compliance and secretarial functions, and joins from Mondelez India, where she was Chief Counsel for India.

Who Pooja Bedi Is
A corporate lawyer, not to be confused with the actor of the same name, who has spent her career in consumer and beverage companies. Her record runs through two alcohol companies, a tobacco-alternative business and two large packaged-food and consumer-electronics firms, all categories where advertising, labelling and marketing claims are closely regulated.
Hemant Rupani, chief executive of HCCB, said she brings extensive legal and business leadership experience and a strong record across governance, compliance and strategic advisory, which will support HCCB's legal, compliance and secretarial agenda.

In a beverage bottler, the general counsel's desk is where claims on packs and in ads, sponsorship contracts and regulatory questions end up. A lawyer with that much experience in regulated consumer categories is well placed for a business that sells to a very wide market under close scrutiny.
