Mitali Maheshwari At Tata Starbucks
Maheshwari joined in April 2024 to lead the product, portfolio and marketing organisation. Her mandate has been to pair Starbucks' global heritage with India's regional tastes, making the brand more accessible while keeping its aspirational appeal.
In her post, she called it a dream job that became a chance to build products "for the many Indias within India", tell authentic stories and create meaningful experiences with her team. She added that good marketing goes beyond building brands, and is about understanding people and anticipating what they need.
From Red Bull To Coffee
Before Tata Starbucks she spent more than a decade at Red Bull, moving through roles across brand marketing and consumer engagement before becoming head of brand marketing. She began her career in advertising in 2012 as a senior account executive at DDB Mudra Group.
Her career runs across retail, FMCG and advertising, with a focus on brand building, product strategy and consumer experience. Tata Starbucks' recent work includes its Diwali campaign.
Why It Matters
Product and marketing sit in one role at Tata Starbucks, which means the person shaping the portfolio also shapes how it is sold. That combination matters in a market where the chain has to serve very different regional preferences.
The company has not issued a statement, the effective date of the promotion has not been disclosed, and it is not clear whether her remit has changed with the new title.
