The International Cricket Council (ICC) has invited agencies to bid for the marketing and public relations mandate for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

  • Tournament: ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027
  • Host nations: South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia
  • Dates: October-November 2027
  • Mandate: Campaign strategy, creative and content development, milestone activations, media engagement and amplification across key markets
  • Application requirements: Company legal details, a signed non-disclosure agreement, and a company portfolio of no more than 15 pages

A Mandate Built Around Southern Africa

The appointed agency will work closely with the ICC, the Cricket World Cup Local Organising Committee (LOC) and other stakeholders to build awareness, drive fan engagement and generate excitement in the lead-up to and through the tournament. The tender specifically asks applicants to highlight relevant experience delivering marketing and PR for major international sporting events, particularly in Southern Africa, alongside contact details for a proposed project lead.

Gatekeeping The Process Early

Only applicants meeting the eligibility criteria and signing the ICC's standard non-disclosure agreement will receive the formal invitation to tender documentation, a screening step that keeps the shortlist of agencies competing for the mandate limited before the substantive bidding process even begins. With the tournament set to be one of the biggest events on the cricket calendar, the mandate carries the kind of scale that typically draws bids from agencies with dedicated sports marketing practices.
