What Is In The Bourbon Chocolate Modak
A chocolate peda studded with crushed Bourbon biscuits, filled with a Bourbon chocolate ganache and finished with edible gold. It can be picked up at the Byculla mithai factory and shop, and at outlets in Kala Ghoda, Phoenix Palladium in Lower Parel, Bandra, Juhu, Oshiwara and Borivali. It is also on sale for visitors at Lalbaugcha Raja and Parelcha Raja.
Why It Came Back
Both companies say demand. Puneet Das, chief marketing officer of Britannia Industries, called the pairing two originals in their own spaces, noting Britannia was the first to bring Bourbon to India, and said last year's response justified a return. Sameer Seth, founder and CEO of Bombay Sweet Shop, said the fun was taking a biscuit people carry in their memories into something as traditional as the modak without losing what makes it a modak.
A repeat run changes what the collaboration is for. A one-off festive product earns a news cycle. A second season starts to build a habit, and a biscuit brand that can claim a place on the Ganesh Chaturthi table in Mumbai has found a festival slot most packaged snacks never get near. More brands.
