- Arrives from: Muthoot Fincorp, part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group

What Nishit Shrivastava Takes On
The technology behind lending to businesses that most banks do not serve. Aye Finance lends to micro enterprises, where the borrower often has little formal credit history and the underwriting depends on data the lender has to gather and interpret itself. Managing director Sanjay Sharma said technology has always been central to how the company serves that segment, and that integrating intelligent models will matter more as it grows.
At Muthoot Fincorp, Shrivastava's remit spanned customer experience, data engineering, infrastructure, digital transformation, security and enterprise AI. At Aye, the stated priorities are scalable and resilient platforms, and data and AI applied to lending decisions and operations. Sharma said that experience across financial services technology, digital transformation and enterprise-scale programmes would be valuable as the company strengthens its technology capabilities.
Why This Kind Of Hire Is Worth Watching
In micro-enterprise lending, technology is not a support function. It decides how fast a loan can be assessed, how cheaply it can be serviced and how early a problem can be seen. A chief technology officer in this business is effectively working on the unit economics.
Shrivastava's own framing was about making credit more accessible, efficient and responsive. That is the right test: whether the platform makes a small loan cheaper to give without making it riskier to hold. The company is at ayefin.com. More people.
