Archies Brings Elephant Parade Sculptures To India

Archies has become the official distributor in India for Elephant Parade, the art brand and social enterprise from Thailand known for hand-painted elephant sculptures. The figures will be sold as collectibles, décor and gifts.
- Brand: Elephant Parade, Thailand
- Partner: Archies, official distributor in India
- Products: individually designed elephant sculptures and showpieces
- Cause: a portion of proceeds supports Asian elephant conservation
What Elephant Parade Is
Each sculpture is the same elephant form treated as a canvas by a different artist or designer, so every piece has its own pattern and story. The enterprise began with Mosha, an Asian elephant in Thailand who lost part of her leg after stepping on a landmine, and has since taken its painted elephants around the world to raise awareness and money for conservation. One of the designs heading to India, Colour of Love, is covered in bright hearts.
Jeannette Brüske Woelinga, general manager for Asia and the Middle East at Elephant Parade, said Archies shares its interest in gifts that tell a story, and that its retail presence and understanding of Indian gifting should take the brand to many more people.
Why Archies Wants It
Gifting has become crowded at every price point, and the easiest thing to copy is a product. What is harder to copy is a reason. Varun Moolchandani and Hanisha Gandhi, executive directors of Archies, said memorable gifts carry a story and emotion, and pointed to potential across gifting, décor and collectibles, for birthdays, anniversaries, housewarmings and festivals.
A collectible line also gives a store something to come back for. Once a buyer owns one elephant, the next design is the obvious gift. More brands.
