Shashidhar Sharma Leaves WPP Media To Co-Found AdNexa.ai

Shashidhar Sharma, co-founder and chief operating officer of AdNexa.ai

Shashidhar Sharma has co-founded AdNexa.ai and is its chief operating officer. He left WPP Media in January 2026 and began building the company in April, alongside co-founder Pradeep Nagam, also formerly of WPP Media.

  • Role: co-founder and chief operating officer, AdNexa.ai
  • Left WPP Media: January 2026
  • Began building: April 2026
  • Co-founder: Pradeep Nagam
  • Company: a media operating model running social, search and programmatic through one engine

What Shashidhar Sharma Is Taking On

The operating half, which in a company of this kind is the hard half. A media engine is easy to describe and difficult to run: it needs client onboarding that does not take a quarter, reporting that survives a procurement audit, and a delivery team small enough to be fast and senior enough to be trusted with budget.

A chief operating officer in a nine-month-old media company is effectively designing all of that at once, while the first clients are already live on it.

Why The Gap Between January And April Is Interesting

Three months between leaving and building is unusually deliberate. Most agency founders announce on the way out, because the noise of the exit is free publicity and the network's clients are at their most reachable in the first weeks.

Waiting suggests the product came first and the company second, which is the right order for something whose pitch is an engine rather than a roster of people. It also means the proposition was not assembled to explain a departure after the fact.

The Pattern Worth Watching

Senior operators leaving holding companies to build small, technical media shops is now a steady movement rather than a series of individual exits. The common argument is the same each time: the network's scale advantage was buying power, and buying power matters less when the decisions are made by systems.

Whether that holds is unproven, and the honest test is two years out, when the founders' own relationships stop being the reason clients sign. The company is at adnexa.ai. More people.
