Practo Names Jagnoor Singh CEO As Founder Shashank ND Singh Becomes Executive Chairman

Practo has appointed Jagnoor Singh, its chief operating officer, as chief executive with effect from 1 September 2026. Founder Shashank ND Singh moves into the expanded role of managing director and executive chairman, and three more senior leaders take new responsibilities.
- Jagnoor Singh: chief executive, from COO; joined Practo in January 2025
- Shashank ND Singh: founder, now managing director and executive chairman
- Siddhartha Nihalani: co-founder, adds the role of COO for B2C
- Rowel Coelho: COO for B2B, previously head of monetisation
- Abhinav Lal: co-founder, named chief scientist
- Growth stated by the company: 40% a year, profitable for the past two and a half years
- Recent expansion: consumer platform in the UAE and the United States
How Practo Has Divided The Top Job
Along a familiar line between building and running. Shashank keeps the company's vision, product and strategy, and adds long-term innovation, capital strategy, acquisitions and corporate development. Jagnoor takes overall strategy, growth and operations across markets.
That leaves strategy on both sides of the line, which is normal in a founder-chairman arrangement and is also where these structures are tested. The split works when the founder genuinely stops running the day and the chief executive genuinely owns the number.
Who Jagnoor Singh Is
An operator from consumer internet. Before Practo he held senior operating roles at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy and OYO, and in twenty months as COO he drove the company's growth strategy and its expansion into new markets. His own priorities for the role are scaling globally, deepening Practo's place across the healthcare ecosystem and using AI to strengthen its products.
The Chief Scientist Is The Unusual Appointment
The other changes are organisational. Splitting operations into B2C and B2B chiefs gives the consumer app and the enterprise business separate owners, a sensible split for a company that serves both patients and hospitals.
Naming co-founder Abhinav Lal chief scientist is a different kind of move. The role is research-led: frontier applications of AI in healthcare, research partnerships and an innovation hub. A healthtech company with a network it puts at more than 700,000 doctors and providers has an unusually rich place to test those ideas, and an unusually high bar for getting them right.
Practo set out the changes on its own blog. More news.
