NIELIT and Intel India have launched two agentic AI skilling programmes, announced in New Delhi at a national leadership dialogue on preparing the future workforce for the agentic AI era.

  • Partners: National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, and Intel India
  • Under: the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the IndiaAI Mission
  • Programme one: Agentic AI for Everyone, covering workflow automation, AI agents and multi-agent systems on no-code platforms
  • Programme two: Engineering Agentic AI Systems, covering agent architecture, tool integration, orchestration, memory and deployment
  • Announced: 3 September 2026, New Delhi

Why The Split Between The Two Agentic AI Tracks Matters

Most public AI skilling to date has taught prompt writing, which is a skill with a short shelf life and a low ceiling. Splitting the curriculum into a no-code track and an engineering track is an admission that the useful work now divides along a different line.

The first programme takes people who will never write code and teaches them to assemble agents that do a job end to end. The second takes engineers into architecture, orchestration, memory and deployment, which is where systems either hold up in production or quietly fail.

Who Was In The Room

Shashi Shekhar Vempati, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, argued for long-term skilling pathways that combine foundational and emerging technology skills with practical exposure and real-world datasets.

Madan Mohan Tripathi, director general of NIELIT, and Sudeep Shrivastava, chief operating officer of the IndiaAI Mission and joint secretary at MeitY, were present, alongside Anshul Sonak, head and global director at Intel, and Shweta Khurana, senior director for Asia Pacific and Japan international government affairs at Intel. The stated objective is to widen India's AI talent pipeline and prepare a workforce that can build, deploy and work alongside agentic systems. More news.
