Meta Wants Ad Creation Fully Automated By The End Of This Year

Meta has said it intends to fully automate ad creation by late 2026, with the advertiser's contribution reduced to a business URL and a budget while the platform builds, targets and optimises everything after that.
- Target: fully automated ad creation by late 2026
- The pitch: supply a business URL and a budget, then step back
- Advantage+ already runs at roughly $60 billion annualised
- Recent additions include AI rewriting the text inside ad images
The Part That Should Worry An Agency
Automated buying is old news. Automated making is not. The description Meta is using covers the work a performance shop currently charges for: producing variants, writing the copy, choosing the audience, and reallocating spend between them.
If that becomes a platform feature rather than a service, the fee attached to it goes with it. What survives is the work the platform cannot see: what the brand is for, what it should not say, which product to push this quarter, and whether the numbers coming back mean what they appear to mean.
The Measurement Problem Underneath
There is a quieter issue in fully automated creation. When the platform picks the creative, picks the audience and reports the result, the advertiser loses the ability to run a clean test, because there is no stable variable left to hold still.
Performance improves on the platform's own reporting. Whether it improves on the business is a separate question, and answering it now requires deliberate work outside the platform: holdouts, incrementality tests, and first-party data the platform does not control.
For The Indian Market
India's advertiser base skews toward businesses small enough that "a URL and a budget" is an appealing offer, not an insulting one. Many of them were never going to hire an agency at all. The pressure lands hardest on the tier of shops whose value proposition was executional competence on exactly these platforms.
