Krafton Rolls Out BGMI Update 4.6 With Midnight Hunters On Erangel

Krafton has released BGMI update 4.6, putting a horror-themed Midnight Hunters event on Erangel from 16 September to 16 November 2026. The update also introduces Kiaraa, a character designed in-house for India, and sets up the game's Diwali calendar.
- Update: BGMI 4.6, live from 16 September 2026
- Headline event: Midnight Hunters on Erangel, running to 16 November
- Vampire Takeover zones: Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka
- Nightkeeper's Hunter Guild: Stalber and Sosnovka
- Returning mode: Ocean Odyssey, back on 30 September
- New character: Kiaraa, built in India by Krafton's own team
- Collaborations in the cycle: One Punch Man, Techno Gamerz, Lincoln and B.DUCK
What The BGMI Update Actually Adds
Midnight Hunters is not a separate mode sitting beside the main game. It changes Erangel, the map most Indian players spend their evenings on, and it does so for two months rather than a fortnight. Four named locations become Vampire Takeover zones and two more carry the Nightkeeper's Hunter Guild, which means the familiar drop spots now behave differently depending on where a squad lands.
Ocean Odyssey returning on 30 September gives the cycle a second beat, and the collaborations stack on top: an anime licence in One Punch Man, a domestic creator in Techno Gamerz, and two consumer properties in Lincoln and B.DUCK.
Why Kiaraa Matters More Than The Event
Kiaraa is the first character Krafton has built in-house specifically for the Indian game, and that is a different proposition from localising a skin. A character has a name, a look and a place in the game's fiction, which means she can carry merchandise, esports branding and campaign work in a way a limited-time event cannot.
It also changes who owns the affinity. A One Punch Man tie-up borrows an audience for six weeks. A character the studio owns is an asset that stays after the collaboration ends, and Indian gaming has produced very few of those.
The Festival Calendar Has Moved Inside The Game
Diwali content arriving inside BGMI is worth noting for marketers who still think of festival advertising as a media buy. For a large share of players aged 16 to 25, the festival is now also something that happens in a lobby: a themed map, a limited crate, a reason to log in with friends on a specific night.
That is a different kind of inventory from a television spot, and it is priced and measured differently. Brands that want to be in front of that audience in October increasingly have to negotiate with a game studio rather than a broadcaster. Details of the cycle are posted on Krafton's own BGMI site.
