Sony MAX Signs Five Brands For The Mardaani 3 Television Premiere

Sony MAX has brought five brands on board as sponsors for the World Television Premiere of Mardaani 3, scheduling the broadcast into the Independence Day weekend.

  • Sponsors: L'Oreal Paris, Bournvita, Figaro, ENO and SML
  • Premiere: August 16 at 8 PM on Sony MAX
  • Film: produced by Yash Raj Films, starring Rani Mukerji as police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy
  • Categories represented: beauty, food and beverages, healthcare and consumer products

Why The Weekend Slot Matters

The third instalment in the crime franchise centres on crimes against children, with a storyline built around safety and accountability. That is a heavier proposition than the average premiere, and the sponsor mix reflects a family co-viewing audience rather than an action-film one.

Akshay Agrawal, head of Linear Ad Sales at Sony Pictures Networks India, said Mardaani has built a strong identity over the years, led by a character audiences recognise and respect. He added that the premiere gives brands the opportunity to associate with a popular film franchise and an important story during the Independence Day weekend, welcoming the five brands as partners.

The scheduling logic is straightforward. A long weekend delivers the kind of household television audience that has become harder to assemble reliably, and a franchise premiere is one of the few remaining linear properties that can still promise it.
