An instant camera and a printed photograph, as halftone cutouts, for Rashmika Mandanna joining Fujifilm India as its imaging ambassador

Fujifilm India has appointed Rashmika Mandanna as brand ambassador for its Imaging Solutions business, covering the Electronic Imaging, instax and Photo Imaging portfolios across the country.

  • Brand: Fujifilm India, Imaging Solutions business
  • Ambassador: Rashmika Mandanna
  • Portfolios covered: Electronic Imaging, instax and Photo Imaging
  • Products in scope: digital cameras, instax instant cameras and smartphone printers, QuickSnap, binoculars and photo printing
  • Stated aim: deeper engagement with younger consumers, with photography framed as personal expression

Why Rashmika Mandanna Fits This Particular Portfolio

The company has made a point of saying she is already an instax user. That detail is doing more work than it appears to, because instax is not really a camera business. It is a social object: the product's value is the physical print that gets handed to someone else in the moment it was taken.

An ambassador for a category like that has to be plausible holding the thing casually rather than demonstrating it. The instax buyer in India skews young, buys on impulse and treats the camera as an accessory to an occasion, so prior ownership is a more useful credential than technical authority.

Print Is The Part Smartphones Did Not Take

Fujifilm's imaging portfolio sits in an odd position. Phone cameras removed most of the reason to own a compact camera, and the two pieces that survived are the enthusiast end, where sensor and lens quality still matter, and the print end, where the output is the point.

The ambassador covers both ends at once here, which suggests the push is aimed at the second. Digital cameras have their own specialist audience and rarely move on celebrity association, while instant print is bought on feeling.

What Was Said

Mandanna said photographs let people hold on to moments and feelings long after they have passed, and that as an instax user she had always enjoyed seeing a photograph come alive in her hands and being able to share it with someone.

Koji Wada, managing director of Fujifilm India, said her warmth and ability to connect with audiences across the country aligned with the group's purpose of giving the world more smiles. More brand news.
