Nexus Select Malls Expands Its District By Zomato Collaboration Beyond Shopping

- Running alongside: the End of Sadness Sale, with discounts of up to 60% across participating brands
The Mall As A Visit, Not A Purchase
Nishank Joshi, chief marketing officer at Nexus Select Malls, framed the expansion around a change in behaviour rather than a promotional calendar. Consumers no longer look at malls as places to simply shop, he said. They come to spend time, discover brands, dine with family and friends, and enjoy entertainment as part of the same visit.
He added that the continued collaboration with District by Zomato reflects that evolution, and that by extending the proposition beyond shopping to include dining and movies, the company is creating a more connected experience that adds value across every stage of the consumer journey.
The commercial logic is legible enough. A mall operator's real metric is dwell time and total spend per visit rather than footfall alone, and bundling the three reasons a person is already in the building into one app-led offer is a direct attempt to raise both.
