EMW Global Appoints Mann Katkoria And Vinit Shah To Lead Its India Office

EMW Global has appointed Mann Katkoria as head of marketing and partnerships and Vinit Shah as head of commercial, to jointly lead its newly launched India headquarters in Mumbai.
- Agency: EMW Global
- Roles: Head of marketing and partnerships; head of commercial
- Base: Mumbai, the agency's new India headquarters
- Network: London, Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo and Riyadh
Why EMW Global Hired Two People Rather Than One
Because the agency said it would. On launching in India the stated intention was local leadership on the ground, and the two appointments split the job along its natural seam: one side builds brand partnerships and the athlete ecosystem, the other runs commercial strategy and sells.
The agency said both bring more than a decade each across broadcasting, franchise cricket, talent management, sports technology and consulting, and that India operations would be led locally with support from the international team.
The Two Records
Katkoria joins from JioStar, leading original intellectual property and social media initiatives across major sporting properties, with a focus on audience engagement, talent-led storytelling and platform-first communication. Before that came the Knight Riders Group across its international cricket franchises, working on digital identity.
Shah's route runs through most sides of the business. Star Sports first, on marketing across major cricket properties, then the talent agency Cornerstone India on athlete representation, then Sport Interactive driving sales, then Knight Riders Sports on content monetisation, technology, sales and partner acquisition. Most recently Nielsen Sports' consulting team, working with global rights holders.
What The India Office Is Walking Into
A market where investment is spreading beyond cricket, with new leagues and disciplines drawing commercial interest, and where India is set to host the Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030. The agency has already signed Indian cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders vice-captain Rinku Singh as its first cricket talent.
Katkoria framed the opportunity around what brands will buy next, saying the future of sports marketing lies in turning cultural relevance and audience connection into sustainable commercial value, and that brands in India are ready to move beyond traditional endorsements. Shah pointed at the gap itself: having worked across marketing, talent, technology and consulting, "I've seen how much untapped value there is in Indian sport."
