Categories

What the edition recognises.

54 categories in three families, kept deliberately narrow so each one can be judged against criteria written for it. Five further honours are derived from the results or selected by the Grand Jury, and cannot be entered.

02Brand Awards

20 categories

Entered by the brand rather than by its agency, and judged on the marketing team's own year: what it built, the business behind it, and how the team is run. One entry per category.

( 02 — 04 )
03Work & Campaign Awards

22 categories

Judged on the work itself, each category against criteria written for it. A single piece may be entered in more than one category where it genuinely belongs in each.

( 03 — 04 )
04Grand honours

Not open to entry.

Derived from the results of the edition under a points model published before judging opens, or selected by the Grand Jury. They carry no fee.

HonourHow it is decided
Ad Tribe South Agency of the YearDerived from agency and work results using the published points model, then ratified by the Grand Jury.
Independent Agency Grand HonourAwarded only if independent-agency participation is deep enough to make the comparison meaningful.
Brand of the Year - SouthDerived from winning work across categories. A national brand can win it on South-led work.
Grand PrixSelected by the Grand Jury from Gold-level work. Withheld if no work reaches the standard.
Jury Special RecognitionRare, jury-created, documented and approved by the Awards Admin. Not an annual fixture.
The standard

Entering a category does not create an award in it. Where the jury finds no eligible entry has met the standard, the category closes with No Award on a recorded vote.
