Regional Language Excellence
Work where a South Indian language is central to the idea rather than a translation layer applied afterwards. Entries should make clear what the language made possible.
The rate is set by the window open when payment succeeds.
How it is judged.
Each juror scores independently against these weights before seeing anyone else’s view. A score qualifies an entry for consideration. The panel awards.
- Language and Cultural Insight30%
Does the work come from the language and the culture, rather than being translated into it?
- Idea25%
Is there a distinctive, relevant idea?
- Authenticity and Craft20%
Do the writing, casting, music and detail read as true to the audience they address?
- Impact15%
Is there credible evidence it landed with that audience?
- Category Fit10%
Would this work lose its point in another language? It should.
What a strong entry does.
These three carry most of the score in this category. Spend the time here.
- Language and Cultural InsightShow the language working as thinking, not as translation. Include the original and a literal gloss so a juror outside the language can see what is being done.
- IdeaSay in one sentence what the idea is. If that sentence could describe three other campaigns in this category, it is a format, not an idea.
- Authenticity and CraftShow that the people in the work recognise themselves in it. Name who from that community made or shaped it.
What you will need.
Nothing has to be ready to begin. The form saves as you type.
- A case film, or imagesUp to 2 films of 2-3 minutes. No film? Up to 10 images and a PDF case board are accepted everywhere a film is.
- One key visualThe single image that will be shown if the work is shortlisted and on the night.
- Proof of the resultsFigures with their baseline and period, in up to 3 PDFs. Platform reports and sales data carry more than a summary slide.
