Vishal Arora Takes National Charge Of Puma India Key Accounts

Vishal Arora has been promoted at Puma India to lead sales across key accounts and speciality accounts, moving from a regional brief to a national one.
- New role: national lead for key and speciality accounts, Puma India
- Previously: regional sales manager for the west at Puma
- At Puma since: 2023, three years
- Career span: fifteen years across retail, e-commerce and channel building
- Previously at: Croma, Godrej, Tata Sky, Xiaomi and IKEA
What The Key Accounts Brief Covers
Key and speciality accounts are the large retail partners and the specialist stores that carry a sportswear brand into places its own outlets do not reach. It is a job of negotiation, shelf position and forecasting rather than campaigns.
Arora's regional work at Puma covered channel efficiency and inventory liquidation, which is the unglamorous half of the same discipline. Getting stock out of the wrong stores and into the right ones is what makes the next season's allocation possible, and it is the credential that usually precedes a national accounts role. Doing it for one region and doing it for the country are different problems mainly in how wrong a forecast can go.
Fifteen Years Of Channel Work
He began at Croma as an assistant store manager, the youngest in that role at the time, then moved to Godrej, where he opened e-commerce for Godrej Appliances and ran retail marketing for Godrej Interio across east and south India.
A five-year run at Tata Sky followed, building TV OEM partnerships, B2B e-commerce, microfinance alliances and TV commerce, and conceptualising and constructing the Tata Sky experience centre. He was later zonal manager at Xiaomi across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and worked on marketing, loyalty programmes and brand recall at IKEA Hyderabad. He has managed teams ranging from two people to thirty. More appointments.
