Global Desi has named Vedika Pinto brand ambassador for its Festive 26 campaign, Love, Bombay, and the city is the other lead.

  • Brand: Global Desi, the contemporary Indian fashion label
  • Campaign: Love, Bombay, for Festive 26
  • Ambassador: Vedika Pinto
  • Collection: statement silhouettes, vibrant prints, Indian-inspired details
  • Founder and Designer: Anita Dongre

Why The Vedika Pinto Campaign Was Shot On The Street

Because the alternative was a set, and a set is what festive fashion advertising in India almost always is: a lit interior, a staircase, a family. Love, Bombay moves instead, through familiar streets and unexpected corners, and takes the clothes with it.

Pinto described the method rather than the message, saying the campaign did not have to feel perfect or staged, and that they could move around the city, find small moments and play with the clothes along the way. That is a production decision with a visible consequence: occasion wear photographed in motion reads as something a person owns rather than something a brand lent them.

The Collection Underneath It

Festive 26 is built for celebrations and special occasions, bringing together statement silhouettes, vibrant prints and Indian-inspired details. The brand positions it as encouraging individual style rather than prescribing a look.

Anita Dongre, Founder and Designer at Global Desi, framed the design brief as exploring occasion dressing in a way that matches how women dress now: expressive, versatile and personal. The word doing the work there is versatile. Festive collections have historically been bought for one evening, and a collection arguing for more than one wearing is making a commercial case as much as a creative one.

What The City Adds That A Celebrity Does Not

Naming a campaign after a place rather than a season gives it somewhere to return to. Bombay's colourful, chaotic and cosmopolitan character is the brand's own description, and it maps closely onto a label built on fusion dressing: both are arguments for combinations that should not work.

Dongre's reason for the casting was curiosity and spontaneity rather than reach, which is consistent with a campaign shot by wandering. Whether it holds depends on the films, which follow.
