VB Group Hires Rishikesh R Ranga Against A ₹10,000 Crore Target

VB Group has appointed Rishikesh R Ranga as chief executive officer, as the Mumbai developer moves into a phase of expansion across Mumbai and Thane.
- Role: chief executive officer, VB Group
- Experience: nearly 17 years across financial services, premium real estate, sales, marketing and business development
- Target: potential sales inventory worth approximately ₹10,000 crore over the next two years
- Headcount plan: from around 70 to 80 employees to approximately 300
- Career start: financial services with the Aditya Birla Group and Bajaj Allianz, around six years managing institutional business sales
The Brief Is Organisational, Not Architectural
The founder was unusually direct about what the job is. Bhushan Bhanushali said the group had built the business on construction, redevelopment and an understanding of Mumbai's markets, and that the next phase requires scale, depth and institutional capability. He then went further: the mandate extends beyond individual projects and is about building a stronger organisation and a sustainable pipeline.
That is a hire against a structural problem rather than a sales one. A developer running 70 to 80 people is a founder-led operation where decisions route through one desk. At 300, it is not, and someone has to build the layer in between.
What Rishikesh R Ranga Brings
His background is heavier on financial services than on construction. Roughly six years at Aditya Birla Group and Bajaj Allianz managing institutional business sales portfolios, working with chief financial officers and boards, then experience spanning business development, sales and marketing, scale and strategy, channel distribution and proptech.
For a company trying to institutionalise, that mix is arguably more relevant than a project delivery record. The ₹10,000 crore figure is potential sales inventory rather than revenue, which is a measure of pipeline rather than performance, and worth reading as ambition. More leadership moves.
