Tata Technologies signage, after the engineering services company reported higher consolidated revenue and profit for the September quarter

Tata Technologies has reported consolidated September quarter revenue of Rs 1,698.80 crore, up from Rs 1,323.33 crore a year earlier.

  • Consolidated revenue: Rs 1,698.80 crore, against Rs 1,664.63 crore in the June quarter
  • Profit before tax: Rs 241.72 crore, against Rs 251.70 crore in June and Rs 225.87 crore a year earlier
  • Profit after tax: Rs 130.75 crore, against Rs 133.30 crore a year earlier
  • Half-year revenue: Rs 3,363.43 crore, from Rs 2,567.62 crore
  • Results approved by the board on 14 October 2026

Where The Tata Technologies Growth Came From

Services, by some distance. For the first half of FY27 the services segment contributed Rs 2,652.57 crore against Rs 1,976.47 crore a year earlier, while technology solutions rose more modestly to Rs 710.86 crore from Rs 591.15 crore.

That mix shift is the story in the numbers. Services revenue in engineering is people-led and recurring; technology solutions is closer to product and project. A company growing faster on the services side is building a more predictable book, at the cost of the margin leverage a product line can give.

Why Profit Did Not Follow Revenue

Year on year the quarter's revenue is up sharply and profit after tax is marginally down, at Rs 130.75 crore against Rs 133.30 crore. Sequentially, profit before tax also slipped from the June quarter.

That pattern usually means growth is being bought: headcount added ahead of utilisation, or revenue mix moving towards lower-margin work. The half-year figures are the better guide, and there profit before tax did rise, to Rs 493.42 crore from Rs 454.42 crore.

The Standalone Reading

Standalone revenue from operations for the quarter was Rs 881.92 crore against Rs 796.46 crore, with total income at Rs 1,029.56 crore from Rs 834.80 crore, which the company describes as a more subdued picture than the consolidated one.

The gap between the two is where the subsidiaries sit, and it is the part of the result most worth tracking across the next two quarters, because consolidated growth that outpaces standalone growth is a statement about where the business is being built.
