Suvigya Awasthi, joining Bistro by Blinkit as director of marketing after five years at Puma running the team sports business

Suvigya Awasthi has joined Bistro by Blinkit as director of marketing, leaving a sportswear brand for a category measured in minutes.

  • Role: director, marketing, Bistro by Blinkit, Gurugram
  • Started: October 2026
  • Left: Puma Group in September 2026, after five years
  • Most recently: lead, sports marketing at Puma India
  • Remit there: team sports across cricket, football and court sports

What Suvigya Awasthi Built At Puma

The team sports business, from the commercial end. Awasthi states the Puma and Royal Challengers Bengaluru partnership was negotiated and activated start to finish and doubled revenue in its first year, and that a push on jersey culture lifted jersey sales by 80 per cent across team sports.

The football side came through Bengaluru FC and Mumbai City FC, which Awasthi states delivered 33 per cent year-on-year growth, and the PV Sindhu partnership is credited with 15 per cent year-on-year growth in court sports. A Usain Bolt appearance in India was executed, by Awasthi's account, in under 48 hours.

The Work That Won Awards

Cricket is Everyone's Game, Fan on a Billboard and #RCBEverywhere, recognised at the Images Fashion Forum and the ET GIRA Awards among others, alongside talent partnerships spanning Harmanpreet Kaur, PR Sreejesh, Sunil Chettri and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and global crossovers with AC Milan, Ferrari and Borussia Dortmund.

Read together, that is a record built on borrowed attention: a sportswear brand buys its way into something people already care about, then earns the right to be there. Little of it is demand generation in the direct sense.

Why Quick Commerce Is The Harder Brief

Bistro by Blinkit sells food delivered in minutes, where the proposition is the operation and marketing cannot promise what the kitchen and the rider do not deliver. There is no fandom to borrow and no season to plan around.

What transfers is the speed of execution rather than the sports. A marketer who has put a world-record sprinter on the ground in two days is suited to a category where a campaign window is a weekend, and the earlier strategy roles at Puma, which ran across brand, retail, sourcing and operations, are the part of the record that looks most relevant to a business where the marketing and the logistics are the same argument.
