Sameer Bajaj Moves To MiQ After A Loop Through Start-Ups

Sameer Bajaj, joining MiQ as regional director for sales in Gurgaon after eighteen years spanning broadcast, community software and ad tech

Sameer Bajaj has joined MiQ as regional director, sales, starting in September 2026 after eighteen years that began on a television sales floor.

  • Role: regional director, sales at MiQ
  • Started: September 2026
  • Previous role: head of enterprise sales at Silverpush, Gurugram
  • Before that: director of growth at Convosight
  • Education: PGDM in brand management and communications from MICA, Ahmedabad

The Sameer Bajaj Route Into Programmatic

The career reads as a tour of how Indian media buying actually changed, taken in order. It opens in May 2008 at Reliance Broadcast Network as a brand solutions executive, then ten months as senior account manager at Bloomberg TV India.

The longest stretch was six years and one month at Star TV Network, rising from senior account manager through assistant manager to manager between October 2010 and October 2016. Then six years as senior manager at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Gurgaon, from November 2016 to December 2022, covering sales strategy and budgeting.

The Detour Through Community Software

December 2022 brought the sharpest turn: director of growth at Convosight, a software as a service start-up backed by Sequoia and Unilever Ventures, which helps brands listen, drive consideration and build advocacy inside Meta and Reddit communities.

The work there was selling a category that barely existed as a budget line, taking community-led marketing to enterprise customers across categories and geographies and helping brands build and run their own digital assets. That run ended in March 2025 after two years and four months.

Then Contextual, Now Programmatic

Silverpush followed, as head of enterprise sales in Gurugram from April 2025 to August 2026, a year and five months inside contextual advertising technology. MiQ comes next.

Taken together it is an unusual shape for a programmatic sales hire: broadcast scale, then community and advocacy, then contextual targeting. Those three disciplines argue with each other about what attention is worth, which is a reasonable thing for somebody selling audience-led media to have had to reconcile already.
