Rediffusion Appoints Amitava Sinha as Head of East

Rediffusion has appointed advertising veteran Amitava Sinha as Managing Partner to lead Rediffusion Brand Solutions' operations across Eastern India, returning him to an agency he already spent over a decade at.
Amitava Sinha's Return to Rediffusion
Sinha's marketing communications career stretches back to the mid-1980s, starting at FMCG major Reckitt Coleman (now Reckitt Benckiser) before moving through senior roles at JWT, McCann Erickson and Bates. He first worked at Rediffusion between 2003 and 2015, serving as Chief Operating Officer for the last four years of that stint, before spending recent years as an independent branding and corporate communications consultant advising clients directly on positioning and reputation.
"Returning to the Rediff fold is really a homecoming. I am excited to again work in the agency ecosystem," Sinha said of the appointment.
Why the East Matters Now
Dr. Sandeep Goyal, Managing Director of Rediffusion, said the agency was seeing strong demand from the Eastern region and that Sinha's "proven track record in managing large brands with diverse challenges" would strengthen its offering there. Sreeparna Sengupta, who leads Rediffusion's Kolkata office, continues in her role and will work alongside Sinha as the agency builds out its presence in the region.
Regional leadership hires like this one are becoming more common as agencies look past the metro-heavy client base that has traditionally driven their revenue. Eastern India's consumer and industrial base has grown steadily, and a Managing Partner with four decades of relationships across FMCG and agency-side roles gives Rediffusion a credible face to court business that might otherwise default to a Kolkata-based independent shop.
Sinha's re-entry also reflects a pattern independent agencies are increasingly comfortable with: bringing back a former insider who left for a stretch of consulting work rather than recruiting an unfamiliar outside hire for a leadership seat. That familiarity cuts the ramp-up time a new regional head usually needs to rebuild client relationships and internal trust, both of which Sinha already has inside Rediffusion's existing account base.
