Rahul Ahuja, stepping up to vice president, digital at Adfactors PR to lead its Digital Reputation Group

Rahul Ahuja has been named vice president, digital at Adfactors PR, a fourth step up at the agency since April 2024.

  • New role: vice president, digital, Adfactors PR, from October 2026
  • Leads: the Digital Reputation Group
  • Progression: senior account director April 2024, group head April 2025, senior group head April 2026

What Rahul Ahuja Is Taking On

The Digital Reputation Group is the unit brands call when something is already moving: a regulatory issue, a management dispute, a leak, a falsehood spreading faster than anyone can answer it. The work sits across crisis management, digital strategy and integrated marketing communications.

Ahuja says the team is expanding, with openings in crisis communication, digital listening, reputation strategy and legal-risk content management.

Prevention Is Now Part Of The Pitch

The more interesting part of the brief is the half that is not a crisis. A single leak can take years of goodwill down in hours, and a response capability, however fast, is always starting from behind.

So the group pairs crisis response with crisis-ready programmes built before anything happens, the communications equivalent of fire-proofing rather than firefighting. For an agency, that also converts an unpredictable, event-driven service into retained work.

An Unusual Route Into The Job

Ahuja began as a master of ceremonies in 2002 and has hosted more than 1,000 events, then moved through research at Third Bridge as a founding member of its Indian operations. Along the way came the marketing firms AdEventureZ and Counted One Media Labs, the film website Pandolin, a Hindi start-up news show, a JioSaavn podcast, political campaign work across several states, and a Noida diner.

That is not the standard agency ladder, and for a reputation brief it is arguably a better one. Crisis work is mostly judgement about how people will read something, performed at speed and in public.
