Parikshit Sharma Takes Bloomingdale PR Into Southeast Asia

Bloomingdale Public Relations has appointed Parikshit Sharma regional director for Southeast Asia, strengthening its Singapore leadership as the firm expands across the region.
- Firm: Bloomingdale Public Relations Pte. Ltd.
- Remit: building the Singapore client base, deepening Southeast Asian capability, leading the India-Singapore corridor strategy
- Over 20 years across marketing, brand activation, experiential strategy and consumer engagement
- Previously at DDB Mudra, Ogilvy Action, Wunderman Thompson and Havas Media Group
- Based in Singapore since 2018, advising ASEAN and Australian brands, including relaunch work for Intel and Nokia
Hiring Outside PR On Purpose
Diana Fernandes, founder and group chief executive, said the firm deliberately looked beyond traditional PR backgrounds, arguing that communications now sits at the intersection of business, culture, technology, consumer behaviour and reputation.
That is an unusually candid thing for an agency founder to say out loud, and it describes a real shift. A regional leader whose career ran through activation and media planning arrives knowing what a client’s marketing budget actually looks like, which is a different starting point from knowing which editor to call.
The Corridor Is The Commercial Logic
Sharma’s mandate includes brands expanding from India into Southeast Asia and international businesses entering or strengthening their presence in India.
Fernandes framed Singapore as a hub rather than another market, a vantage point into the region. The corridor framing is where the revenue is: an Indian company entering Singapore and a Singapore company entering India both need someone who understands the media and regulatory environment at both ends, and that is a narrow enough brief to charge properly for.
What Parikshit Sharma Has Actually Run
At Wunderman Thompson he led a festival shopper campaign spanning ten Tata retail brands including Tanishq, Titan, Croma and Westside. At Ogilvy Action he ran rural activation for Hindustan Unilever, reaching more than four million households.
Sharma said Southeast Asia is not one market, each country carrying its own media landscape, consumer behaviour, business culture and regulatory environment. Anyone who has coordinated ten retail brands through one festive period knows what that fragmentation costs to manage, which is probably the most transferable thing on his record.
