- New role: Head of Marketing, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC
- Remit: marketing, brand and PR
- Previous role: Head, Brand, Product and Channel Marketing, Aditya Birla Capital NBFC business, since April 2025
- Experience: over 20 years across brand management, marketing strategy and product innovation in BFSI
- Earlier: GroupM Mindshare, Refyne Technologies, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank
A Sideways Move With A Different Job At The End Of It
Murudkar stays inside Aditya Birla Capital but crosses from lending to asset management, and the two ask marketing for opposite things. An NBFC markets a product somebody wants today: the loan closes, the customer either converts or does not, and the campaign is judged on that. An asset manager markets a decision the customer is asked to keep making for a decade, through quarters when the number on their statement goes down.
That changes what the brand is for. In lending it is a shortcut to a transaction. In funds it is the thing that stops a nervous investor redeeming in a bad month, which is why fund marketing leans so heavily on continuity and so little on urgency.
Both Sides Of The Media Conversation
The GroupM Mindshare stint is the one worth flagging for anyone who will be pitching him. Murudkar has planned and bought from the agency side before spending years as the client, and the run through Yes Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank covers most of how Indian financial services has learned to advertise over the past two decades.
Refyne Technologies sits oddly in that sequence, and usefully so. It is an earned wage access startup, which means selling a financial product to salaried employees who had never been offered one, with none of a bank's recognition to lean on.
