Niladri Das Joins MSL India As Group Creative Director
Niladri Das has joined MSL India as group creative director, moving into the Publicis Groupe communications firm after two decades in advertising art direction.

The Route To Group Creative Director
Das started in 2005 as a graphic designer at Rediffusion Y&R in Kolkata, then moved through Derek O'Brien & Associates as a design associate and four years at Dentsu, rising from art director to creative supervisor.
After Concept Communication came six years at K&L Communications as creative director for art, followed by Arms Communications, Rediffusion Brand Solutions and AdGlobal360. He spent nine months as vice-president of creative and social at ARM Worldwide before consulting independently. His stated range covers art direction, digital strategy, page layout, direct marketing, social media and digital-first storytelling.
Why A PR Firm Wants This Hire
The interesting part of the appointment is the destination rather than the person. A career built almost entirely on the advertising side, including twenty years of layout and art direction, is landing at a communications firm inside Publicis Groupe India rather than at one of the group's advertising agencies.
That reflects where the work moved. PR firms now produce a large share of the branded content that agencies once held, and they need people who can art direct rather than only pitch. His route also passed through AdGlobal360 and Rediffusion Brand Solutions, both digital-first shops, which is the bridge between the two disciplines.
