- Earlier: Even in Abu Dhabi, Uber, BAT and Interactive Avenues
- Announced by Kant on LinkedIn
Four Words On LinkedIn
Kant announced the move himself, and briefly. His post read in full: new job, Meta, consumer marketing. No further detail on the remit has been shared.
A Career Assembled Across Categories
The path to it is less compact. Kant spent eight years at Interactive Avenues, rising from executive to associate vice president in client consulting, which is where a large number of India's digital marketing leads were trained.
From there he moved client side, spending a year as head of social for the North Asia area at BAT, then close to four years at Uber across several roles, ending as global social media lead for the mobility vertical. A spell in Abu Dhabi followed as head of brand marketing, PR and social at Even, before the FlixBus role brought him back to the India market.
Earlier still he worked in compliance services at KPMG and interned in retail banking at Citibank India, a beginning that has little to do with where he ended up.
Why The Mix Reads Well Here
Consumer marketing at a platform business is rarely a single-market job, and Kant's record is unusually spread: agency and client, India and the Gulf, mobility and tobacco, regional and global. The common thread across the Uber and FlixBus roles is transport marketing, a category that has to keep persuading people to change a daily habit.
