Netflix And Hoichoi Will Stream 14 Bengali Series In Hindi, Tamil And Telugu

The hoichoi and Netflix service marks side by side, marking a partnership to stream Bengali series in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

The Netflix hoichoi partnership will bring Bengali series to audiences across India in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, in a deal announced in Mumbai on 22 October 2026.

  • Platforms: Netflix and hoichoi
  • Opening slate: 14 titles, dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu
  • Term: Every hoichoi series premiering over the next two years
  • Also agreed: Original adaptations produced by hoichoi studios

What The Netflix Hoichoi Deal Puts On The Service

A catalogue and a pipeline, not just a catalogue. The opening collection runs to 14 titles, among them Madam Inspector, Sampurna, Lajja, Eken Sirji, Anjaan Saaye, The Curse of Parnashavari, Bloodlines, The Adventures of Daadi and Jagga, Raat Abhi Baaki Hain, Achinta: Trial By Law, Shaadi Ka Siyappa, Queens, Parineeta: A Love Story and Mahanagar.

Beyond that, every hoichoi series premiering in the next two years lands on Netflix in the three languages alongside its Bengali debut on hoichoi. First up is The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi, a folklore horror series starring Jeetu Kamal, Solanki Roy and Paoli Dam, premiering on 6 November.

Why The Structure Matters More Than The Slate

A back catalogue licence is a one-off. A commitment covering every premiere for two years is a supply arrangement, and it changes what each side is buying. Netflix gets a continuing feed of finished series in languages it already sells into; hoichoi gets distribution to audiences a Bengali-first service cannot reach on its own.

The companies also agreed to collaborate on original series produced by hoichoi studios, reimagining select hoichoi stories with new creative voices. That is the part that turns a distribution deal into a production one, and the detail is still to come.

The Scale On Each Side

Hoichoi describes itself as the leading Bengali entertainment platform, with more than 2,000 hours of content including over 100 original series, films, shorts and docu-series, and a reach it puts at over 250 million Bengalis worldwide. It launched in 2017 as the maiden venture of SVF's new media arm and is led by co-founder Vishnu Mohta; hoichoi studios, its film production wing, launched in 2023.

For Netflix the deal fits a stated pattern of complementing originals with licensed content, bringing more third-party stories to the service, with the companies pointing to a global audience approaching one billion people.
